Early research topics (which continue to
interest me!):
General linguistics, syntax, the interplay between word order and
intonation, classification of
English adverbials and their position/intonation; information structure; prosody (especially in EFL); impact of “tone deafness”
on learning intonation.
Research topics since the 1980s:
Terminology and terminography (with a focus on (a) medical
terminology and (b) the terminology
of communication); terminology management systems; electronic dictionaries design; terminology recognition; translation memory;
CAT systems; new translation
tools.
